Video Card and Monitor Error #1
Error Message: “The device cannot start. (Code 10).”
What it means: It happens when the PC doesn’t assign the correct system resources to the adapter. It occurs often with NVIDIA based display cards.
What to do: This is the result of incorrect drivers attached or a conflict with previous drivers installed. Download the latest ForceWare drivers from NVIDIA at www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp and follow the instructions for proper installation. If new drivers still don’t help, then make a quick change to one of your BIOS settings. You can access the BIOS by tapping the DELETE key when your system boots up. In the BIOS settings area, you will find an option “Assign IRQ To VGA” (This is especially prevalent on older systems). Check if the option is enabled. (Some newer boards may lack this option and merely enable it automatically) Save your settings and exit.
